Meet Maria Elyse of
First Impressions! I've been following Maria Elyse for a while now and have gotten so much inspiration from her! I'm always looking forward to each post and it's always fun to come across the blog of a fellow fifteen-year-old! I e-mailed her asking if she'd be interested in being featured on my blog and she said yes she was! I hope you all enjoy the beautiful photos and the interview we came up with!
ELYSE: How would you describe your personal style?
MARIA ELYSE: Classic, minimalistic, vintage, hipster, and romantic. I'm not really into crazy patterns or bright colors, my wardrobe consists of usually just solids, stripes, or florals and a pretty basic color palette.
E: How and when did you start blogging?
ME: I started blogging in January 2011 after my oldest sister suggested that I should start a style blog as an alternative creative outlet for my outfit photos and photoshoots. What is now my blog content used to basically be Facebook albums and posts.
E: Where do you find inspiration?
ME: In nature, people, feelings, music and films, and other style bloggers.
E: What's your favorite part about meeting up with bloggers either in person or via skype?
ME: Well, I haven't yet met up with a blogger in person, but I have skyped with a few good blogger friends! I really love just being able to connect with people who share similar interests as I do, people who I may not have ever come into contact with had it not been for the blogging community. My favorite thing would probably be just talking and getting to know my blogger friends better through skyping, since it's so much more personable than email and commenting.
E: What is your favorite article of clothing to shop for?
ME: Ooo, probably dresses or shoes!
E: What is your dream job?
ME: Something related to vocal pedagogy (the study of the art and science of voice instruction). I would love to be a professional clasical singer or musical theatre performer, or a otolarynologist (a head and neck doctor) specializing in larynology (the voice and the throat).
E:What is your favorite thing to photograph?
ME:Other people! I love being able to get exactly the aesthetic I have envisioned in my head through facial expressions, body language, and other elements like clothing and scenery. It's really fulfilling to be the one behind the camera photographing someone, as opposed to being the one in front of the camera with someone else photographing you.
Thank you Maria Elyse!
