Summer calls for all things light-weight and easy to throw on, which sums up this dress perfectly! It's been my go to outfit for especially hot days and trips to the beach. Who needs anything fancy when your days have been consisting of lazy mornings and trips for coffee or thrifting in the afternoon? After rereading that last sentence I just rediscovered my love for summertime. Anyone else?

Longing for the Ocean

Whenever summer rolls around I always wish I lived on a beach in California. The coast in Washington is just as beautiful, just not as warm! I love the ocean for so many reasons, swimming, rock collecting, and gazing out over the endless water.

I bought these high-waisted swim bottoms and a similar bandeau top for this summer's swimsuit. I love the retro look of it and am hoping that I'll be able to sport it on several trips to the Pacific Ocean this summer!

It's been just one day without them and I'm already missing my sisters like crazy! The other thing I'm missing is the city. There's just something wonderful and magical about it!

I just realized that everything about this outfit is new to the blog except for the shoes! I've been wanting to DIY a pair of distressed shorts for years! When I found a pair of dark-wash, vintage Guess jeans I knew they were perfect for the project!

There are a few other pieces I purchased while in Minneapolis that I will be featuring soon. I can't help but buy a million things when I visit because there are so many more shopping opportunities than where I live in Washington! Now that vacation's over I suppose I better save my money for a while...

Climate Change

I am back in Minneapolis! Visiting my sisters is always fun but this time my whole family packed up the car and drove from Washington to Minnesota! This past week has been so full of family time which I have missed so much! 

Now as for what I'm wearing: in 80 and 90 degree weather, shorts, tank-tops, and dresses are the only outfit options. On one hand, I've finally been able to break out my summer clothes! On the other, it has been so hot.

Good Mornin'

I have been dreaming up this sunny morning photo shoot for so long but school always got in the way. Now that summer is finally here, my friend Brooke and I were able to put it together! The morning didn't turn out to be sunny, it was actually raining for most of it, but it turned out well all the same! Some of you might remember the photo shoot Brooke and I did last summer. As it was confusing to a lot of readers the last time I posted one of our photo shoots, the model in all the photos is Brooke. I was behind the camera.

All Things Summer

Ah, the glorious feeling of not having to go to school tomorrow! Now I can spend my days laying in the sun and browsing Pinterest without feeling guilty of procrastination! To kick-off this summer I thought I'd share three of the many things I'm excited for:

1. Summer wear. That is if Washington keeps the temperature in the seventies.
2. Swimming. Last year I went swimming once but after buying a high-waisted swimsuit (!!!) I'm determined to make it happen this year.
3. Exploring. I love hiking and walking all year round but with more time on my hands I'm hoping I'll be able to find some new places to explore.

Odds and Ends

In short, during the months of April and May, all this happened. I've been loving my woven leather bag (thanks Chelsea!) and sandals, wearing them almost everyday! I got to hear Br'er Rabbit live! And spring came into full bloom! And to wrap up a wonderful month, my birthday's next Thursday! Oh May, you never disappoint!
