Tryin' It Out

thrifted top via Chelsea, American Eagle bandeau, Target shorts, Fred Meyer bag, Payless shoes

For the past few weeks I've been itching to try this bandeau trend I've been seeing around! I saw this top of Chelsea's and thought 'perfect!' I'm showing a little more skin than I usually do but a bandeau will be a nice alternative to a cami especially as it starts to get warmer!

I cannot get enough of these saddle shoes! I'd always throwing them on when I can't pick a shoe for my outfit! My teachers, bus drivers, and family friends keep saying, "I havn't seen those around for a while!" It's those comments that make me glad I'm bringing a trend back for another round.

Summer Knits

I've been coming across these gorgeous casual summer outfits featuring different neutral knits. I love how a long knit cardigan looks with a nice pair of denim shorts or lace shorts like in the first photo! Overall these looks are very simple but the detailing of the knit in the sweaters is what makes the outfit interesting.

The Road Ahead

Forever 21 top and sweater, Pac Sun jeans, Payless shoes, vintage pins

It was a gorgeous rainy day today! I got to wear my sunny yellow North Face rain coat and my favorite comfy sweater. I also got my dose of vintage in with my saddle shoes and pretty tuquoise pins.

I recently went shoppig and got some amazing pieces! The tank-top underneath my sweater is new and though you can't see all of it, you can see the straps peaking out of the top of my sweater! I can't wait to put the rest of the items I purchased into an outfit!

On a side note, Jackie , who does outreach for the Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance shared an article that I found most interesting! Check it out here!

Moon

I was taking a picture of the full moon but my little camera refused to stop shaking around. I made the most of it! I just love those times when there's no editing needed in photos! This was one of those times!

Details

Old Navy top, Crossroads skirt, Target shoes, H&M sunglasses via Chelsea
I put these clothes on and was instantly going through my jewelry collection and my scarves trying to find another something to finish off my outfit. After running the possibilities through my head for approximately the fourth time, I started reaching for yet another dress. I took one last look in the mirror and decided I would just go for the simple look. On my way to the bus I was a little disappointed with my ensemble but as the day went on and I collected more and more compliments I decided to check it off as a success!

There are enough details in each piece of clothing to have them stand on their own I have concluded. The buttons on the back of the top, the texture of the denim fabric, the tiny flowers on my shoes, and the sweet little earrings make it interesting while the monocramatic color scheme brings it all together.

Summer Dreaming

Chelsea's thrifted dress, thrifted jean jacket, Target oxfords

Ideal Summer uniform: cropped denim jacket, neutral oxfords, and flowy dress. This combo hasn't failed me yet! Just switch out the dress from the outfit you wore yesterday and you've got a whole new outfit!

The weather has been glorious the past few days! All the sun has had me longing for Summer! But, in the meantime I will continue wearing dresses, skirts, and shorts all week!

Coffee Date

Forever 21 dress, Target oxfords, thrifted jean jacket, Mocha Cookie Crumble and Green Tea Frappuccinos

New favorite Starbucks drink: Green Tea Frappuccino. If you havn't tried it yet, you must. Half price Frappuccinos at Starbucks is the perfect time to try new drinks! It's seriously what I look forward to every Spring! My friend Jenna and I had a lovely coffee outing after school and outfit pictures.

I was instantly drawn to this dress while at Forever 21 and purchased it on the spot. I love the pretty print, the flowy fabric, and the sheer elements. Perfect Spring/ Summer piece!

Featured blogger: Maria Elyse

Meet Maria Elyse of First Impressions! I've been following Maria Elyse for a while now and have gotten so much inspiration from her! I'm always looking forward to each post and it's always fun to come across the blog of a fellow fifteen-year-old! I e-mailed her asking if she'd be interested in being featured on my blog and she said yes she was! I hope you all enjoy the beautiful photos and the interview we came up with!

ELYSE: How would you describe your personal style?
MARIA ELYSE: Classic, minimalistic, vintage, hipster, and romantic. I'm not really into crazy patterns or bright colors, my wardrobe consists of usually just solids, stripes, or florals and a pretty basic color palette.

E: How and when did you start blogging?
ME: I started blogging in January 2011 after my oldest sister suggested that I should start a style blog as an alternative creative outlet for my outfit photos and photoshoots. What is now my blog content used to basically be Facebook albums and posts.

E: Where do you find inspiration?
ME: In nature, people, feelings, music and films, and other style bloggers.

E: What's your favorite part about meeting up with bloggers either in person or via skype?
ME: Well, I haven't yet met up with a blogger in person, but I have skyped with a few good blogger friends! I really love just being able to connect with people who share similar interests as I do, people who I may not have ever come into contact with had it not been for the blogging community. My favorite thing would probably be just talking and getting to know my blogger friends better through skyping, since it's so much more personable than email and commenting.

E: What is your favorite article of clothing to shop for?
ME: Ooo, probably dresses or shoes!

E: What is your dream job?
ME: Something related to vocal pedagogy (the study of the art and science of voice instruction). I would love to be a professional clasical singer or musical theatre performer, or a otolarynologist (a head and neck doctor) specializing in larynology (the voice and the throat).

E:What is your favorite thing to photograph?
ME:Other people! I love being able to get exactly the aesthetic I have envisioned in my head through facial expressions, body language, and other elements like clothing and scenery. It's really fulfilling to be the one behind the camera photographing someone, as opposed to being the one in front of the camera with someone else photographing you.

Thank you Maria Elyse!
